House Call Training & Grooming
Hi, I'm Sara Compton, Canine Behaviorist and certified Groomer.
Welcome to Love Love Me Dog, where my goal is to help you, help your dog to live a healthy, happy life!
Over the years, I have seen many families struggling to accommodate their dogs "special needs", often not realizing that they are reinforcing the negative behaviors that they are hoping to eliminate.
I understand that by the time you decide to get professional help, you've probably exhausted every other training method you could Google! But that doesn't mean yours is a hopeless case, so don't give up!
It's my job to gather up all the information that you have learned, to observe your dog as an individual and to fine tune a rehabilitation program that fits into your lifestyle.
I often hear people referring to their dog as “My baby!” or “One of the kids” and the ever popular “Man’s best friend”.
We get so attached to them that they truly become a member of the family.
The goal of Love Love Me Dog, is to keep your dog in the family, to fix or prevent behavioral issues, so that your “baby” doesn’t end up in the shelter as so many “problem pets” do.
It’s worth remembering that people are rarely prepared to adopt dogs with issues, so if he does end up in a shelter, he is most likely going to be there for a very long time. Or worse.
Love Love Me Dog specializes in behavioral issues and currently volunteers time at animal shelters, helping to rehabilitate these abandoned “babies”, hoping to improve their chances of finding their forever families.
Dogs, being pack animals by nature, want nothing more than to keep the leader of the pack, happy.
So, who is the leader of your pack?
The short answer is YOU!
Your pack members will look to you for leadership, and most behavioral issues occur where clear leadership is lacking.
Your dog will be in his element when he is pleasing you as long as he sees you as the leader. The best way for you to show off your leadership skills is to “require” behaviors from your dog. If you don’t give him rules to follow, he will make his own rules and he will become the leader, regardless of what you want OR how completely inept at it he is!
Love Love Me Dog has the answer!
Many dogs have problems with car rides.
This can happen for many different reasons, ranging from lack of practice to bad experiences but over stimulation and excitement are probably the most common.
The jumping around, barking and whining are not only annoying but also a dangerous distraction for the driver.
Most often, people just end up not taking their dogs out in the car except to the vet or groomer, which is disappointing for you and leads to a life of monotony for your dog.
Love Love Me Dog has several solutions to offer, so that you can all have happy travels!
Is your dog digging up your yard? Chasing wildlife just under your beautifully manicured lawn? Trying to reenact The Great Escape by tunneling under your fence? Burying hidden treasure?
Love Love Me Dog can help identify why he’s doing it and offer inventive solutions!
Does your dog like to sit on your feet or stick his nose into your popcorn while you’re just trying to enjoy movie night? Does he rush the door when the doorbell rings? Have you nearly broken your neck because he pushes past you on the stairs?
Sometimes, just a handful of simple commands can make your interaction with your dog much more satisfying!
Recall training and walking on leash are probably two of the most useful lessons for you and your dog!
They are also two of the most common problem areas encountered in the dog training field! Don’t feel bad! These are things that seem like they should happen naturally but all too often, don’t.
Don’t worry! Love Love Me Dog is here for you!
Does your dog just keep doing something that is making you CRAZY?!
It may be something that some simple basic training can fix, which Love Love Me Dog also offers!
Are you thinking about adopting but you don’t know how to integrate a new member into the pack? Whether this is the first dog in your household, or the fifth, Love Love Me Dog can help!
For behavioral issues, I won't lock you into a six, eight, ten week plan, how quickly this goes depends strictly on how much time you put in when I'm not around, and how ingrained the behaviors already are. I have worked with dogs that only required two or three sessions and some who have needed months.
As long as you need me, I'll be here and when you think we're done, we're done!
If you are interested in basic training or puppy classes, they usually run for about six or eight weeks.
In both cases, I charge per session, so you don't have to come up with a big chunk of money up front.
My interest lies in keeping your four legged friend in your family for his or her whole life, so you are never faced with the heartbreaking decision to give up, and condemn your friend to a life of bouncing from home to home, only to be given up on again.
We can do it, together.
